Roy Donald Monday, 69, of Glasgow, passed away Friday, November 20, 2015 at NHC Health Care after a brief illness. Born April 21, 1946 in Monroe County, Kentucky, he was a 1965 graduate of Tompkinsville High School and a member of the Westwood Church of Christ in Glasgow. He was a son of Lizzie Lou Short Houchens and the late Willie Harold Monday.
Besides his mother his is survived by one son: Jason Monday of Louisville, KY; two grandchildren: Justess and Brandie Monday of Nashville, TN; two sisters: Kathy Reverter (George) of St. Augustine, FL and Janet O’Brien (Pat) of Glasgow, KY; four brothers: Paul Monday (Francis) of Barbourville, FL, Ron Monday (Carol) of Cornelia, GA, Eddie Monday (Linda) of Waynesville, NC and Terry Monday of Jackson, TN; Six nieces and nephews and six great nieces and nephews.
Besides his father he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: Luther B and Ethel Short and his paternal grandparents: Isham and Lizzie Monday.
Funeral will be 6:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with cremation to follow. Visitation will be after 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family request expressions of sympathy be in the form of donations for funeral expenses.
