Robert William Ascani, 54, Glasgow, died suddenly Wednesday, October 16, 2013, at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. A native of Pennsylvania, he was a son of the late Angelo and Elizabeth Campi Ascani. He was a machine operator at Akebono of Glasgow.
Survivors include his fiancée Kathy Froedge, for 27 years they had been the love of each other’s lives; two sons: Jeremy Ascani and his girlfriend Kristie Hunter, and Tony Jones and his wife Mandy; one daughter: Leslie Soliderich; 8 grandchildren: Delana Jones, Slade Jones, Austin Jones, Cody Jones, Jasmine Dowdy, Faith Dowdy, Leah Townley, and Terri Ann Wilder; one brother: Joseph Ascani; a special cousin: James Wolfe.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Ricky Ascani and one sister, Brenda.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to help defray funeral expenses.
