Ricky Lee Sherfey

Ricky Lee Sherfey, 61, Austin, passed away Monday, September 22, 2025 at his residence. A native of Barren County, he was the son of Mary Lou McGuire Birge and the late Danny Sherfey. He was a maintenance supervisor at Akebono in Glasgow who had a sincere fondness of horses and motorcycles.

Survivors include two sons: Derek Sherfey and his wife Hope, and Corey Sherfey all of Glasgow; two granddaughters: Addyson and Zoey Sherfey; his mother Mary Lou Birge and husband William; one brother, Rodney Sherfey and his wife Angela all of Glasgow; three nephews: Justin, Dustin, and Hunter Sherfey; one step-sister, Denise Birge; his caretakers: Denise Birge, Tracy Reece, Ashley Duncan, and Nancy Mathews; along with several other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father Danny Sherfey; his maternal grandparents: Wendell and Lida McGuire; and his paternal grandparents: Haskel and Oberia Sherfey.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Poplar Log Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
