Ricky D Nifong

Rick Nifong, 69, Newport, Kentucky, passed away Monday, August 4, 2025 at UC Hospital in Cincinnati. A native of Barren County, he was the son of the late Jack Ernest Nifong and Jo Ann Clark Nifong.

Rick was a professional chef. Much of his spare time throughout the years was spent repairing and refurbishing computers that he then donated to the elderly and handicapped without charge. In later years, he became highly involved with Publishers Clearing House activities.

Survivors include three children: Tony Nifong (Samantha) of Newport, Dawn Imel (Jake) of Portland, Indiana, and Kay Bricking of Highland Heights, Kentucky; one brother, Jack Nifong of Bowling Green; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Ernest Nifong; and three sisters: Penny Bernice Chapman, Cathy Lynn Nifong, and Norma Cathy Nifong.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Shiloh Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
