Peggy L Burris

Peggy Lou Burris, beloved family member and dear friend passed peacefully on April 1, 2026. Peggy lived a life rich in love, laughter, and devotion to others, especially her grandchildren, who brought her endless joy.

A graduate of the University of Kentucky, Peggy met the love of her life, Chuck, and went on to teach English at Glasgow High School. Her commitment to education and excellent grammar left a lasting impact on many students, with whom she was still in contact.

Jesus has long been in Peggy's heart. She was a member of Faith Community Church. Even as her vision faded, she remained faithful, using magnifying glasses to read scripture. Her vibrant personality and playful humor brought joy to all. She loved theater, music, and reading.

She is survived by her son Jeff (Janet) Burris; grandchildren Alec Burris and Sydney (Cody) Hisle; great-grandson Theodore Hisle; stepdaughters Kathy (Michael) and Barbara (Alan). She now rests alongside her beloved husband Chuck Burris; daughter Molly Lou Burris; parents Jim and Bessie Lou Mullican; brothers Johnny (Laverne) and Jimmy Mullican.

A memorial service will be held 12:30 p.m. Saturday, April 4, 2026 at the Faith Community Church, 301 Lexington Drive, Glasgow, Ky. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the church.  Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
