Nona Catherine Oaks, 87, formerly of Glasgow, died Monday, January 29, 2007, in New Albany, IN. A daughter of the late Clyde and Elsie Daffron Chaplin, she was a retired seamstress at Handmacher.
Survivors include one son, Gary Lee Oaks and his wife, Mary Mitchell, of New Albany; four grandchildren, Angie Gilliam and husband, Bobby, of Scottsville, Stacy Oaks of Glasgow, Kevin Oaks and wife, Lisa, of Eustis, FL, and Tyson Oaks and wife, Christine, of Henryville, IN; one brother, Melvin Chaplin; two sisters, Barbara Cade and Martha Honey; 6 great-grandsons; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 1, 2007, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Friends may call after 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
