Nettie Ruth Pedigo, formerly known as Nettie Ruth Shockley, passed away peacefully at the age of 96 on January 30, 2026, at NHC Health Care in Glasgow, Kentucky. Born on August 5, 1929, in Metcalfe County, she was a beloved daughter of the late Edd Lee and Maymie Coffey Shockley.

Throughout her life, Nettie found joy and fulfillment in her work alongside her husband, Marvin Wayne Pedigo, in the log woods and tobacco fields. A passionate farmer, she cherished the time spent in the fields, but her greatest delight came from being surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Her family was her pride and joy, and she dedicated herself to fostering love and support within her home.

Nettie was a devoted member of the Pleasant Hill Church of Christ, where she found community and connection throughout her life. Her faith was a cornerstone of her existence, guiding her values and interactions with those around her.

She leaves behind three children: Linda Saltsman and her husband Jimmy, Jessie Pedigo and his wife Debbie, and Rita Thomas. Nettie's legacy continues through her eight grandchildren: Tony Saltsman and his wife Angie, Stevie Pedigo, Brian Pedigo and his wife Christie, Kevin Pedigo and his wife Venus, Kurston Mathis, Lori Thomas, Jeremy Thomas and his wife Amy, and Christa Thomas. She was also blessed with several great-grandchildren, as well as nieces and nephews who will carry her memory forward.

Nettie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Marvin Wayne Pedigo, her beloved grandson, Scottie Saltsman, as well as eight siblings: Lucille Crumpton, Sylvia Coffey, Geneva Morgan, Janette Harrington, Marvin Shockley, Jewell Pickett, John William Shockley, and Eula M. Shockley. Their memories remain cherished in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

A funeral service celebrating Nettie’s life will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home, with burial to follow at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Wednesday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and again on Thursday starting at 9:00 AM until the time of the service. She will be remembered not only for her devotion to family and faith but also for the warmth and kindness she shared with everyone who crossed her path.
