Melissa Ann Burd, 48, Horse Cave, died Thursday, February 10, 2022 at the University of Louisville Hospital. A native of Barren County, she was the daughter of Johnny Gentry, Sr. of Cave City and Kathy Love Chapman Gentry of Glasgow. She was a homemaker.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband Clifford Dale Burd; seven children: Brittany Gentry, Gabrielle Gentry, Jordan Lucas, Benjamin Watson, Connie Minton, Madison Burd, and Kristina Burd; five grandchildren: Sophia Gentry, Reagan Gentry, Rylie Megalis, Easton Watson, and Gunnar Minton; one brother, John Gentry, Jr.; one half-sister, Kimberly McClellan; three aunts who were like mothers to her: Debbie Stinson, Martha Smith, and Emma Poe. She was preceded in death by 5 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 6:00 p.m. Sunday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with cremation to follow. Visitation will be after 12 noon Sunday at the funeral home.
