Mattie Britt

Mattie Britt, 94, Glasgow , died Monday, September 27, 2004 , at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital . A native of Metcalfe County , she was a daughter of the late John William Barrix and Mary Elizabeth Ray Barrix. She was a homemaker, a retired housekeeper at several homes in Glasgow and a former employee of the Glasgow Golf & Country Club. She was a member of the Old Blue Springs Baptist Church . She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Franklin Britt.
Survivors include two daughters, Maxine Lysle of Louisville , and Ruth Corine Martin and her husband, Cecil, of Glasgow ; two granddaughters, Vanessa Abidoye and her husband, Emmanuel, of Atlanta , and Yolanda Lysle of New Jersey ; one great-grandson, Cecil J. Abidoye; one sister, Lillie Jones of Knob Lick; one niece, Mary Lee Williams of Bowling Green; several great-nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 29, 2004, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Barlow Cemetery. Visitation will be after 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
