Mary Christine Smith

Mary Christine Smith, 87, Glasgow, passed away Saturday, January 17, 2026 at the Monroe County Medical Center. A native of Monroe County, she was the daughter of the late Fay Clarkson and Ada Turner Clarkson England.

Mrs. Smith was a retired employee of the Ky Pants Company and a member of the East Main Street Church of Christ. She loved her time that was spent with her flower gardening as well as with her grandchildren. Her family was a very important part of her life.

Survivors include three children: Steve Hunt and his wife Stacey of Glasgow, Karen Copass and her husband Timmy of Tompkinsville, and Kathy Bush and her husband Douglas of Glasgow; four grandchildren: Cody Copass (Natalie), Jessica Burris (Zack), Travis Hunt, and Callie Flowers (Lucas); five great-grandchildren: Raulin Copass, Maci Burris, Channing Flowers, Haylin Burris, and Charleigh Flowers; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Stanley Jewell Smith; one grandson, Keenan Bush; one sister, Kathleen Clarkson; three brothers: Wendell Clarkson, Ralph Clarkson, and Larry Clarkson.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and continue Tuesday morning at the funeral home.
