Marty Smith

Marty Lynn Smith, 49, Glasgow, died Tuesday, March 3, 2009, at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. A native of Barren County, he was a painter and carpenter and a member of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Cindy Parker Smith; two daughters, Amy Smith of Glasgow and Angelia Ballard (Josh) of Bowling Green; one son, Joe Parker of Glasgow; one granddaughter, Kaylyn Ballard; his father and step-mother, Woodrow and Jean Smith of Glasgow; two brothers, Randy Smith and Kevin Smith (Gloria) all of Glasgow; one brother-in-law, John Davis (Patty) of Glasgow; his mother-in-law, Hazel Robinson (Walt) of Glasgow; lifetime friends, Roger Thomas, Ricky Lyons, Joel Groce and Connie Moore; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He had also been a father figure for numerous individuals.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Juanita Dodson Smith.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Friday, March 6, 2009, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Friends may call after 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
