Marjorie Carol Moran Palmore, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, September 30th, 2026 at the age of 85. She was born on January 8, 1941 in Glasgow, Kentucky. She was the daughter of the late Lee Ellis Moran and Gladys Young Moran.
Marjorie was one of the first bookmobile drivers for Mary Wood Weldon Memorial Library and later, reference librarian, she loved her job, she loved her patrons.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 48 years, Wirt C. Palmore, Jr., her two sisters and brother-in-laws, Roberta and Carl Jackson, Agnes and Vincent Nadile, Kenneth Colter, as well as, Ralph and Patty Lu Palmore, Potter and Nancy Palmore, Kenneth Lane, nephews Greg Palmore, Joe Palmore, Nick Lane and nephew-in-law Bobby Billingsley.
She is survived by her daughter Kimberly Jo Palmore and Keith Bonner, two grandchildren, Rachel Wyatt Perkins, Jonathan Odell Wyatt, and a great grandson, Benjamin Miller Perkins, whom she loved dearly. She is also survived by her loving sister, Betty Lee Colter and her best friend Alice Palmore Lane.
Marjorie leaves behind several extended family members, Steve and Katie Jackson, Ann Attal and Barkely Edwards, Ronnie and Janice Nadile, Joseph Nadile, Timothy Colter, Ricky and Jana Colter, Jeffery Neal Colter, Marita and Paul McKinney, Mark and Holly Lane, Kathryn and Mike Farrell, Kathy Lu Billingsley (Bobby), Julia Palmore (Greg), Julie Palmore (Joe), Dorthy Palmore, Jamie Palmore and James Palmore and the best neighbors, whom she loved like family, Terry and Carol Dawn Durham.
She will be greatly missed but fondly remembered for her beautiful smile, style, self-determination, and will to live life to its fullest.
There will be a private service with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
