Margaret Kinslow Crain Jackman, 81 of Cave City, Kentucky passed away Sunday, April 30, 2023 from end stage congestive heart failure.  Margaret was born in Barren County on June 11, 1941 to Lydia Mae Houchens and Thompson Botts “Tompie” Kinslow.  She attended and graduated from Park City High School after which she worked as a switchboard operator until she and Oscar Crain married.  They together owned and operated Crain’s Grocery in Hardyville for 32 years.  Upon Oscar’s passing in 2010, Margaret became “re-acquainted” with her high school sweetheart Joe Jackman.  They married in 2014.

Margaret leaves behind her husband Joe of Cave City; her son David Louis Crain (Penny); her grandson Daniel Louis Crain; and her granddaughter Katherine Lenore Crain all of Lexington; one step-son, David Jackman (April); two step-daughters: Shannon Stewart Oliver (Steven) and Toye Stewart Medford (Todd); three step-grandchildren: Jordan Jackman, Tate Simmons, and Cara Medford all of Glasgow; two brothers, Roy Kinslow (Margie) and Leslie Kinslow (Wanda) and one sister Betty Ann Staples all of Glasgow; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Oscar Louis Crain; two brothers: Gus Kinslow and Charles Kinslow; and three sisters: Marie Ramey, Frankie Peden, and Nell Houchens.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p m Tuesday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Horse Cave Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p m Monday and continue after 9:00 a m  Tuesday at the funeral home.
