Mabel Wright

Mabel Berniece Wright, 93, Beckton, died Wednesday, March 3, 2004 , at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital . A native of Clinton County , she was a daughter of the late Sally Jane McDonald and Granville Emery Tompkins, a homemaker and a member of the Beckton Church of Christ. She had a great interest in reading and crocheting.
Survivors include seven children, James Wright and his wife, Mary, of Florida, Ralph Wright and his wife, Betty, Billy Wright and his wife, Betty, all of Glasgow, Rebecca Speer and her husband, William, of Frankfort, Linda Bybee and her husband, Jerry, of Clarkson, Freda Simpson and her husband, Troy, of Park City, Barbara Jo Elmore and her husband, Wayne, of Louisville; one sister, Lexie Jane Tompkins of Albany; her caregivers, Lucille Riddle, Lena Martin, Brenda Jackson and others; 23 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charity Odis Wright; four children, Sandra Kaye Wright, Gerald Thomas Wright, Roger Wayne Wright and Norman Gene Wright; one granddaughter, Deborah Elaine Wright; one sister, Mary Ruby Tompkins.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 7, 2004, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
