Lynda Phillips Matthews

Lynda Phillips Matthews, age 77, of Hiseville, Kentucky, passed away Monday, June 30, 2025, at the Shanti Niketan Hospice Home in Glasgow. Lynda was born August 21, 1947, in Lebanon, Kentucky, to the late Boyd Winchester Phillips and Martha Hansen Phillips. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Thomas Depp Matthews, and an infant brother Boyd Hansen Phillips.

Lynda was a member of the Hiseville Christian Church and a beloved member of the faculty and staff at Hiseville School for many years. As cheerleading sponsor, she inspired many young girls who have reached out to her over the years with their love and appreciation.

She is survived by two sons, Thomas Boyd Matthews (Terri) of Hiseville and Benjamin Todd Matthews (Tonya) of Bowling Green, two grandsons, Greg and Luke (Emily) Matthews, two granddaughters, Haley and Aleya Matthews, and a great-granddaughter Aubrey Claire Matthews. Lynda was loved by all who knew her and enjoyed her friends and the many trips they embarked upon.

Visitation will be Wednesday, July 2 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home in Glasgow. The funeral will be Thursday, July 3 at noon, with visitation prior and burial following at Hiseville Cemetery.

Flowers are welcome in loving memory of Lynda; however, an alternate form of sympathy may be a donation to the Shanti Niketan Hospice Home in Glasgow in her memory.
