Louise Wakefield

Louise Stone Wakefield, 98, Glasgow, died Wednesday, July 9, 2008, at the NHC Health Care Center. A native of Garden Plain, IL, she was a daughter of the late Julia Spangler and Philo Stone. She was a retired buyer’s assistant at Sears and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Glasgow.
Survivors include one son, Richard Wakefield and wife, Katherine, of Sarasota, FL; one daughter, Marlene Hagedorn of Glasgow; three grandchildren, Hillary Bomball of Ballwin, MO, Meredith Kasyan of Palo Alto, CA, and Brooks Wakefield of Poulsbo, WA; two great-grandchildren, Emily and Abby Bomball; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Laurin K. Wakefield; her son-in-law, Robert J. Hagedorn of Glasgow; her sister, Harriet Rehfeldt of Oak Park, IL; her brother, George Stone of Seal Beach, CA.
A memorial service will be held 5:30 P.M. Monday, July 14, 2008, at the Chapel of NHC Health Care Center. Graveside services will be held at a later date at the Oak Ridge Glen Oaks Cemetery in Hillside, Illinois. Arrangements are under the direction of the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Barren River Animal Welfare Association or the First United Methodist Church.
