Lelia Rogers Ganter Handy, 84, of Versailles, passed away on Monday, June 2, 2025 at her residence.
She was born in Glasgow, KY to the late Dr. Frederick and Kate Dickinson Ganter. Lelia was a member at First Christian Church of Glasgow; obtained a Bachelor’s Degree from Transylvania University in Biology and later obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Teaching from Western Kentucky University; she formerly worked as a Medical Technologist at TJ Samson Community Hospital. In her spare time, she enjoyed watercolor painting and spending time with her family.
Lelia is survived by her two children, Aaron (Molly) Tilton, of Versailles and Kate (Ryan Branstetter) Tilton, of Willisburg; two grandchildren, Lelia Trabue Branstetter and Olivia Rose Branstetter; brother, Frederick Ganter, Jr., of Glasgow; sister, LaVece Ganter Hughes, of Nicholasville; and her cat companion, Sam.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 28, 2025 at First Christian Church in Glasgow with inurnment at Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 12 noon on Saturday, June 28, at the church. Memorial contributions may be made in her honor to either First Christian Church of Glasgow or to BRAWA. Local arrangements entrusted to Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home.
