March 6, 1943 ~ April 15, 2021
Larry Follis Wood, age 78, of Austin-Tracy, died Thursday, April 15, 2021 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Born on March 6, 1943, he was the son the late Ed Wood and Audrey (Graves) Pedigo. Larry was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in Korea and Germany. After his retirement from the highway department, he owned and operated Larry’s Mowing Service.
Survivors include his wife Bessie Ann Wood; one son, Timothy Wood of Glasgow; two granddaughters, Whitney Wood of Glasgow and Heather Wood Huffman of Bowling Green; six great grandchildren, Jayden Morgan, Lucas Cross, Ryleigh Dicks, Alana Branham, Davin Huffman, and Jaxon Huffman; one sister, Linda Wood.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Byron Wood; mother-in-law, Brenda Trivett; daughter-in-law, Amanda Wood Morgan.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, April 19th at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home. Burial with military honors provided by Glasgow Chapter 20 DAV will be in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 to 8 pm Sunday and Monday morning until time for the service at the funeral home.
In keeping with the Governor’s recommendations for safety during funeral and memorial services, the number of attendees in the funeral home at any given time will be limited; no food permitted in the lounge; social distancing will be necessary; and face coverings are recommended.
