Kay Mayfield, 96, of Glasgow died April 20, 2013 at NHC Healthcare. She was born on June 4, 1916 in Caruthersville, Missouri to Mr. And Mrs. O. T. Wilson. After attending business college in Pontiac, Michigan, she worked for the Civil Service Commission in Washington, DC, where she met and married Dr. Lynn Mayfield. Her parents, her husband, and a brother, Randall Wilson preceded her in death. She is survived by two nieces: Cindy Wilson of Florida and Phyllis Wilson of Michigan.

Mrs. Mayfield was an avid gardener and flower arranger; past president of the Glasgow Garden Club; past president of the Kentucky Flower Show Arrangers Council;a master flower show judge and landscape critic. She was a member of the Glasgow First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) where she participated in the activities of the sanctuary choir.

A graveside service will be held 4:00 p.m. Thursday, April 25, 2013, at the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Hatcher and Saddler Funeral Home. No visitation is scheduled. Memorials may take the form of contributions to the First Christian Church Building Fund.
