Kate Ramsey

Kate Elizabeth Chaney Ramsey, 105, formerly of Glasgow, Kentucky went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 9, 2009 at Somerset Nursing Home at Somerset, Kentucky.
She was born in Hart County Kentucky on February 29,1904, daughter of the late Walter and Alice Slaughter Chaney. She was a homemaker and member of Calvary Baptist Church. She and William Leo Ramsey were married on October 21, 1934. He preceded her in death on July 9, 1982.
She is survived by one brother, James Chaney of Arkansas; one sister, Irene Chaney Short, Horse Cave, Kentucky. Several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; one brother Brent Chaney; six sisters, Ruth Chaney Gross, Mildred Chaney Tarvin, Amy Chaney Ferguson, Floy Chaney Herndon, Pauline Chaney Settle, Edna Chaney Keefe; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2009 at 1:00 pm at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens of Glasgow. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 11 am to 1 pm at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home.
