Glasgow

Karen McQuown made the world’s best fudge.

Yes, she accomplished many other things, but the quality of her peanut butter and chocolate fudge cannot be overstated.

Karen’s life began in Columbia Ky, October 6, 1949. Her parents are the late William Morgan and Anna Lois Morgan.

She grew up with her two siblings, the late Deana Coffey and Joe Coffey. "Having siblings is like making music, some high notes, some low notes, but it is always a beautiful song." "You will never know and love another human being for as long as you know and love your brother and sister."

Karen’s hobby was spoiling her grandkids and great grandkids. That she loved dearly. She followed them around with food, made big pallets for them to watch cartoons on and let them destroy every inch of her floor with toys. Life stood still when they were in her presence.

Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren, Brandi Richards (Kurt Richards), Lincoln Richards, Mela Richards, Joey Parkhurst (Michelle Parkhurst), Noah Parkhurst, Tatum Parkhurst, Peyton Scott, Blaine Curtis, Bella Mae Scott, Jax Scott, Nash Fant, Evan Scott, Kylie Beller (Reeves Beller), Ryatt Beller, Koen Beller, Ari Beller, and Dalton Fant (Megan Fant).

While attending Liberty Street Elementary in the 4th grade, she met the man she would stay with for the rest of her life Meredith (Buck) McQuown. The love of her life, they would reunite and marry in 1991. They shared many beautiful years together.

Karen’s two greatest treasures were her son Mark Fant (Shannon Fant) and Donna Harbin (Paul Harbin). She was so proud of her two children. Their caring hearts and beautiful souls.

The last few months Karen struggled with pain in her back and neck. She was extremely tired and ended up with pneumonia which put her in the hospital. While at TJ, she endured a cardiac arrest. It was a miracle for her to come out of her coma remembering her family and life. She had the opportunity to tell her loved ones just how much she loved them one more time. What a blessing presented by our Lord and Savior.

On May 5th,2025 Karen Jean McQuown shed her earthly pain and made a graceful exit, after 7 days of waking up from her coma. Her breathing slowly diminished and today and forever she flies free.
