Johnny Wilburn Byrd, 78, of Glasgow, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2025 at his residence. He was a son of the late Oakley Homer and Nova Irene Groce Byrd.

He is survived by one daughter: Lynn Combs; eight grandchildren: Eric Pennycuff (Kelli), Derek Pennycuff, Brian Pennycuff, Brandi Bailey (J. R.), Chad Lyons (Tiffany), Shea Jones, Dustin Smith and Stephanie Burris (Chris); one brother: Cordell Byrd; two sisters: Frankie Altstatt and Joan Hibbs (Jack); daughter-in-law and caregiver: Cindy Pennycuff; several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife: Letha Ernestine Vincent Byrd; one daughter: Connie Byrd; several brothers and sisters also preceded him in death.

Funeral will be at 12:00 pm Thursday, July 24, 2025 at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Wednesday and after 9:00 am Thursday until time for services. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the funeral home to help with expenses.
