John R. “Jay” Coomer
April 4, 1929 ~ April 24, 2005
John R. “Jay” Coomer, 76, Cave City, died Sunday, April 24, 2005, at the Hart County Health Care Center. A native of Barren County, he was a son of the late Charlie R. and Hazel F. Edwards Coomer, a retired employee of General Motors and a member of the Allen Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Lynn; one step-son, Steve Swanner of Cave City; four nephews, Doug Coomer of Florence, Keith Coomer and Kevin Coomer of Knob Lick and Jim Coomer of Bowling Green; one niece, Beth Oyler of Bowling Green; two sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Coomer of Cave City and Barbara Coomer of Knob Lick.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Earl Coomer, Terrill Coomer and Wendell Coomer.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 27, 2005, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Jeffries Cemetery. Friends may call after 6:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
