Joan Compton
February 10, 1941 ~ April 12, 2006
Joan Lohden Compton, 65, Cave City, died Wednesday, April 12, 2006, at the NHC Health Care Center. A native of Barren County, she was a daughter of the late Mary Lee Staples Groce and Morris Lohden. She was a homemaker, an avid craftsperson and cook and a member of the Coral Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Marcia Johnson and husband, Ronnie, and Connie Brummett and husband, Jerry, all of Glasgow, Patricia (Cricket) Bingham and husband, Marty, of Cave City; five grandchildren, Amanda Bartley and husband, Nathan, Chris Oakes and wife, Shandi, Tabatha Onsar and husband, Sean, and Kimberly Mitchell and husband, Josh, all of Glasgow, Dana Clark and husband, Timmy, of Cave City; two great-grandchildren, Gavin Bartley and Carson Oakes both of Glasgow; one sister, Nelda Wooten and husband, Sammy, of Sonora; one brother, Wayne Lohden and wife, Jessica, of Glasgow.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Junior Compton.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Friday, April 14, 2006, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Hiseville Cemetery. Friends may call after 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
