James R. Webb, 88, Glasgow, passed away Friday, December 22, 2023 at his residence. A native of Monroe County, he was the son of the late G. C. Webb and Louie Burks Webb. A member of the Baptist faith, he was a retired employee of the Glasgow Water Company and a founding member of the Haywood Volunteer Fire Department.
Survivors include his wife Freida Morris Webb; one son, Steve Webb (Lori) of Glasgow; two daughters: Stacey Webb Bartlett (Mike) of Glasgow, and Trina Webb Ramsey of Elizabethtown; three grandchildren: Emily Webb (Hugh Loeffler), Andrew Webb (Kara), and Cole Ramsey; two great-grandchildren: Scott and Griffin Webb; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother William Webb.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time for services at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home. The family requests that alternate expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Alzheimer’s Association or to Hosparus Health of Barren River-Glasgow.
