Harold David Huffaker of Glasgow, KY went home to be with Jesus on July 11, 2025. Harold was born in Louisville on April 27, 1963, but called the family farm in Monticello, KY home for much of his life.

Harold was married for 34 years, after eloping the day after Christmas in 1990. Melanie (Burks) Huffaker rode the same school bus as Harold, and he never imagined that one day he'd share a life with the girl he once refused to share a school bus seat with. Years later, their adventure began with a first date of ice skating and Thai food.

While never dull, no adventure in their marriage could have ever compared to the delight of raising two beautiful girls. Hannah Clarice Huffaker of Liverpool, England and Katelyn Carol Huffaker of Glasgow, KY were his joy. Harold adored and loved them more than words could ever express. He was THE BEST Daddy and cherished every minute with them. They were his heart, his treasure, and true legacy.

Harold valued family; as the baby brother to Michael Huffaker, the late Patricia Huffaker Masters (Mark), and Janet Huffaker Munsey (Richard), he shared a bond that was precious and unbreakable. He likewise developed that same deep bond with his 2 dear brothers-in-law, Richard Munsey and the late Mark “Buck” Masters. Harold had 4 nieces and 3 nephews: Amy Henderson (Jeff), Cassie Lester (Chris), Kellyn Martin, Morgan Dick (Gabe), Ronnie Masters (Karen), Christopher Huffaker (Sara), and Andrew Masters (Laura). The Huffaker family farm hosted too many loud holiday gatherings and family meals to count. Harold’s Mom, the late Clarice Smith Huffaker was the love that guided them all.

Harold was a retired mechanical engineer and could fix anything, but his true vocational passion was farming. He loved the family farm that had been handed down for generations. He often expressed how working the land and its beauty gave him a sense of God’s majesty.

God’s love and his faith in Jesus’ saving grace were the roots that tethered Harold throughout his life and ushered him into his heavenly home. Harold was blessed to call Coral Hill Baptist Church in Glasgow, KY his church family, where he found Christian brothers that bonded and cared for one another deeply.

Harold’s life was celebrated at Coral Hill Baptist Church on July 17, 2025. The Huffaker family would like to thank everyone from the bottom of their hearts for the outpouring of love and kindness during this time.
