Gary Wilton Houchens, 70 of Glasgow, Kentucky, passed away surrounded by his family Thursday, March 26, 2026 at T. J. Samson Community Hospital. He was the son of the late Hazel Wilton Houchens and Mary Anna Kinslow Houchens. He was an army veteran and a former paramedic for Jefferson and Barren County EMS. Avid sports enthusiast and music lover, but his greatest legacy was being a father and grandfather and loved being known as GG.
He is survived by his wife: Faye Houchens; six children: Amanda Goodman, Nick Houchens (Marsha), Jon Houchens (Candice), Mike Houchens (Amy), Dave Houchens (Lexee) and Kevin Houchens; thirteen grandchildren: Brittany Lile, Gage Goodman, Jadyn Goodman, Zander Houchens, Madelyn Houchens, Reagan Bennett, Acey Houchens, Presley Houchens, Avery Houchens, Mia Kate Houchens, Piper Houchens, Josie Houchens and Brayden Houchens; two great-grandchildren: Kaeson Lile and Hudson Lile; one sister: Freda Likens; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one brother-in-law: Carlie Likens; one nephew: Bradley Likens; one great-nephew: Trevor Likens.
Funeral will be 2:00 pm Sunday, March 29, 2026 at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Glasgow Chapter 20 DAV will be providing military honors at the cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Saturday and after 9:00 am Sunday until time for services.
