Ewell Greer

Charles Ewell Greer, 75, Knob Lick, died Monday, May 15, 2006 at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. A son of the late Harry and Elise Freeman Greer, he was a retired farmer and a member of the Big Meadow Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Roger Greer and wife, Maria; five daughters, Marilyn Williams and husband, Harry, Joan Baker and husband, Don, Rita Wilson and husband, Terry, Sherry Bratcher and husband, James, Anita Vance and husband, John; 14 grandchildren, Amy Rich (Thomas), Natalie Travis (Matt), Amanda Forrest (Greg), Nena Walters, Tiffany Bennett (Aaron), Kristen Childress (B.J.), Jonathan Greer (Amiee), Derek Wilson, Tonya Saltsman, Dustin Phillips, Jenna Pace (Eric), Drew Saltsman, Emilee Wilson and Trevor Phillips; 8 great-grandchildren; his companion and caregiver, Alice Byrd; Alice’s children, Eddie Estep, Brenda Horton (Dave), Pam McCuiston (Tony), Mark Byrd (Stacy; Alice’s 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Blanche Greer; four nieces.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Florine Johnson Greer; one brother, Stanley Greer and two sisters, Eileen Ramey and Emma Jean Rust.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 18, 2006, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with Bro. Billy Neal Davis officiating. Burial will be in the Big Meadow Cemetery. Friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
