Ernest M. Thomas, 96, Glasgow, died Tuesday, June 23, 2015, at Glasgow Health & Rehabilitation Center. A native of Barren County, he was a son of the late Jack and Annie Mae Jones Thomas. He was a retired carpenter and farmer, an avid golfer, a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church, and a U. S. Army Veteran of WWII.
Survivors include his son: Terry Thomas and wife Mary of Bowling Green; his son-in-law: Eugene Garrett of Glasgow; his grandchildren: Cathy Caldwell and husband Chris, Kevin Thomas and wife Careleigh, Calissa Furlong and husband Steven, Brandon Garrett and wife Tashina, Jordan Garrett and wife Angel; one brother: Douglas Thomas of Glasgow; one sister: Edna Ashley of Louisville; 13 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Marjorie Ellen Hope Thomas and his daughter Sheila Garrett.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Friends may call after 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
