Elsie “Jean” Humphrey Cox, 84, Glasgow, went to be with her heavenly father Friday, June 3, 2016 at T. J. Samson Community Hospital. She was born October 2 nd , 1931 in Metcalfe County, KY to the late Robert Jack and Zora Pauline Humphrey.
She was a graduate of Center High School and a retired employee of Handmacher and SKF. She was a charter member of Glasgow Cumberland Presbyterian Church where she worked faithfully in the nursery, was a member of the choir, and worked with the LOGOS youth group.
She is survived by four daughters: Elaine Manion of Scottsville, Lana Hatcher (Lannie), Teri Robertson, and Tresia Sexton (Garry) all of Glasgow; one brother: Billy Humphrey (Shirley) of Knob Lick; one sister: Norma Ward (Marshall) of Lexington; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a grandson: Christopher Manion of Louisville.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the J. B. Smith Cemetery at Sulphur Well, KY. Visitation will begin at 12 noon Monday at the funeral home.
