Ellen Mae Lanham Burks, 68, of Glasgow, KY passed away Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at Saint Francis Hospital in Charleston WV.
Born and raised in West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Dolly Dimple Hudnall Lanham and Herman Noble Lanham. Ellen was homemaker and an avid cross stitcher. Her cross stitched pictures decorate the walls of many homes in both Kentucky and West Virginia.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her her husband, James Howard Burks and two brothers: Leonard Ray Lanham and Norman Lanham.
Ellen is survived by her daughter Sharon M. Coffman and husband Clifford; two grandchildren, Charles Coffman and Amy Raynes; three great-grandchildren, Leah Coffman-Rinehart, Timothy Raynes and Hannah Raynes; one step-son Thomas Davis Burks and his wife Vivian; one step-daughters: Janice Davis Jennings and her husband Brian two brothers, Herman Lanham and Daniel Lanham – both of North Page, WV; three sisters, Helen Thomas and husband Gary of Oak Hill, WV, Linda Bowyer and husband Floyd of Page, WV and Rosa Harmon of Page, WV and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial at the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be after 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home.
