Donald Lee Bertram, 72, Glasgow , died Wednesday, October 29, 2003 , at the T.J. Samson Community Hospital . A native of Barren County , he was the son of the late Hershel and Nell Rush Bertram. A United States Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict, he was former owner of Bertram-Jolly Cleaners, owner of Bertram Signs, a member and former deacon of the Columbia Avenue Church of Christ, a member of the Haywood Volunteer Fire Department and a model train enthusiast.

Survivors include his wife, Sue; one son, Ben Bertram and his wife, Amy of Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Ashley, Gage and Katie Bertram; one sister, Virginia Settle of Louisville ; two nephews, John Bertram Settle of Pittsburgh and Maj. Blake Settle (Adria) of Louisville, presently deployed to Afghanistan; one niece, Susan Lewis of Louisville; his mother-in-law, Velma Anderson of Glasgow; several great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, John Settle.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Columbia Avenue Church of Christ with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery . Friends may call after 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home and after 12 noon Saturday at the church. Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Columbia Avenue Church of Christ or Ronald McDonald House of Louisville , 550 South First Street , Louisville , KY 40202 .
