Darrell Lynn Holmes, 67, Glasgow, died Thursday, December 29, 2022 at the T J Samson Community Hospital. A native of Barren County, he was the son of the late Harry Thomas Holmes and Dorothy Jean Morgan Holmes. He was a retired telephone engineer with Versicom who loved golfing and bowling. He was also very proud of his former vocation of being an EMT and firefighter.
Survivors include three children: Callie Christian (Quentin) of Glasgow, Morgan Holmes Negishi of Japan, and Thomas Holmes of Bowling Green; five grandchildren: Avery, Lilibet, and Jake of Glasgow; Ren and Kai of Japan; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The family is honoring Mr. Holmes’ wish to be cremated. A Celebration of Life service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 7 at the Avenue Church with visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
