Curtis E. Burch, Sr., 85, died Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. He was a native of Brunswick, GA, But lived in Lucas since 1990. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, A US Navy SP (F) 3/C fire fighter veteran of WWII, a life member and chaplain of Glasgow, Chapter 20 DAV, where he had participated in hundreds of military funeral services. His remains was donated to Louisville School of Medicine.

He is survived by two sons Curtis Burch, Jr. and wife Ruth of Bowling Green, Ricky Burch and wife Nancy of Glasgow. One special daughter Mrs. Pat Johnson and husband James of Brunswick, GA; four grandchildren: Emily Richey and husband Rollin of Louisville, Ellie Burch of Glasgow, Pixie Jarvis and husband Dr. Jim Jarvis of Bowling Green and Cynthia Burch of Bowling Green; one great-grandson: Jordan Burch; Several nieces and nephews and the Vaccaro Family of Massachusetts.

There will be a memorial service 2:00 P.M. Sunday, May 22, 2011 at the Immanuel Baptist Church. Visitation will be after 1:00 P. M. Sunday at the church. Full military Honors will be provided by the Glasgow Chapter 20 DAV. Honorary pall bearers will be Rolling Thunder Chapter 2 and the Freedom Riders. In lieu of Flowers alternate expressions of sympathy may be made to the Glasgow Chapter 20 DAV or the Immanuel Baptist Church. Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
