Clarice Sullivan Baker, 89, Glasgow, died Sunday, April 25, 2010 at NHC. A native of Metcalfe County, she was a daughter of the late Ethel Acree and James Monroe Sullivan. She was a retired Registered Nurse, having worked with the T. J. Samson Community Hospital and the Glasgow State ICF. She was a member of the American Nurses Association and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Glasgow.
Survivors include her husband, George C. Baker; three daughters, Judy Baker Wade (Gregory D.) of Paris, KY, Freida Ann Waller (Charles) of Benton, KY, and Nancy Carolyn Kiper (Keith) of St. Petersburg, FL; five grandchildren, Andrea Roe (Justin) of Nicholasville, Sarah Waller and Rachel Waller of Benton, Karenna Kiper and Hans Kiper of St. Petersburg; one sister, Ruby Martin of Edmonton; one brother, Rollin “Oscar” Sullivan of White House, TN; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 6 brothers, Carl Sullivan, Walter Sullivan, John “Lonzo” Sullivan, Henry Sullivan, Ernest Sullivan and Phillip Sullivan.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the First United Methodist Church.
