Charlie “Dick” Thomas, 91, Glasgow, passed away Friday, April 15, 2016, at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. A native of Cumberland County, he was a son of the late Fate and Mary Maude Crabtree Thomas.
Dick has been a car dealer in Glasgow since 1960. He was a lover of life and an avid practical joker. He was a United States Army veteran of WWII, serving in the infantry and training with the 11 th Airborne.
Survivors include two daughters: Charlene Hole and Cindy Rahn; two grandchildren: Danny Johnson, Jr. and Whitney Cianci and her husband Frankie; four grandchildren: Kelsey Madison Johnson, and Izaiah, Frankie, and Gianna “Rose” Cianci all of Glasgow; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Rose Lee Evans Thomas; 5 brothers and 1 sister.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday and continue Monday morning at the funeral home.
