Charles E. Parker, 86, Cave City, passed away peacefully Thursday, October 23, 2025. A native of Barren County, he was the son of the late Isaac C. Parker and Gladys Lucille Lancaster Parker.
Charles was formerly a sales associate of Bailey-Gibson Buick-Pontiac-GMC in Glasgow; but he was more widely known as a breeder of registered Santa Gertrudis cattle. Charles was a member of the Santa Gertrudis Breeders International (SGBI) along with the Kentucky Santa Gertrudis Association where he had served as president; chairman of numerous committees; and coordinator of registered cattle sales. He held membership in the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association along with the Kentucky and Barren County Cattlemen’s Associations. He also was a member of the Kentucky Quarter Horse Association.
Survivors include his wife Deanna B. Parker; one daughter, Carin P. Jeffers and husband Bob of Alvaton; one son, Chip Parker and his wife June of Glasgow; two grandchildren: Ashley Jeffers and her significant other Jason Forsythe, and Carsen Parker and her fiancé Capt. Michael Clark; one brother, Kenneth Parker and his wife Gay of Glasgow; one sister, Joanna Forbis and her husband Bobby of Glasgow; along with nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 1, 2025 at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4:00 p.m. Friday, October 31, 2025 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations in Charles’ memory are requested to the GOALS Leadership Program with SGBI, or to the Ronald McDonald House.
