Charles Wayne “Chuck” Bennett, 75, of Hiseville, passed away Saturday, October 17, 2026 at the T J Samson Community Hospital. He was born in Glasgow on May 3, 1951 to the late Charles Luther Bennett and Virginia Aline Neal Bennett. He was married 40 years to the love of his life, June, who passed away just over two months ago on August 14th. You could say Chuck died from a broken heart; he missed her terribly.
Chuck was a dedicated farmer who loved the Hiseville community. He was a man that could make a friend everywhere he went and would quickly draw a crowd with his hilarious stories of the old days. His laugh was contagious; his tales would make you laugh ‘til your belly hurt and he most likely gave you a nickname that he would forever refer to you as. Chuck had a deep love for his family and friends. He will never be forgotten by all who were honored to know and love him.
Survivors include his sons Michael and Dillon Bennett; his step-son Justin Basil and his step-daughter Brittany Bennett all of Hiseville; a special daughter, Wendy Bragg; ten grandchildren: Jacob, Zachary, Waylon, Chase, Leann, Matthew, Gracelynn, Lillyan, Trinity, and Ammon; three great-grandchildren: Bentley, Kensley, and Liam; two sisters: Brenda Morgan (Myron) and Patricia Rutherford (Eric); one sister-in-law, Teresa Lane; one brother-in-law, Larry Houchens; several nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brother Gary Bennett; sister Lisa Bennett; step-son Thomas Matthew Basil; grandson Thomas Finn Basil; father-in-law Horace Finn; mother-in-law Eurma Finn; sisters-in-law, Carla Houchens and Anita Houchens; and brothers-in-law, James “Jimmy” Lane and George “Buddy” Houchens.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Hiseville Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
