Cecil Lenford Martin, 75, Glasgow, died Friday, May 29, 2009, at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. He was a retired manager of the Publication Room at R. R. Donnelley & Sons and a member of the Church of Christ in Nashville. He was a United States Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict era.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Corine Martin; one daughter, Vanessa Abidoye and husband, Emmanuel, of Marietta, GA; one grandson, Cecil J. Abidoye of Marietta; one step-granddaughter, Elizabeth Abidoye; one sister, Agatha Sublett and husband, Edward, of Glasgow; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Effie Martin; his foster parents, Annie and Doc Martin; one sister, Olene Martin Roundtree.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 1, 2009, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Military honors will be provided by the Glasgow Chapter 20 DAV. Visitation will be after 12 noon Monday at the funeral home.
