Carlos Hobert Fancher, 75, Horse Cave, passed away Friday, July 17, 2026 at his residence. He was the son of the late James Edward Damon Fancher and Lucille Ordenia Poynter Fancher. Carlos was a farmer for most of his life. He had also worked as a mechanic and was one who enjoyed participating in Karaoke. He had previously served as Constable and a Deputy Sheriff in Metcalfe County.

He is survived by his loving wife, Beverly Reece Fancher; his children: Angela Fancher of Indianapolis, IN, Jason Fancher of Richmond, IN, Anthony Parker of Indianapolis, Lucy Fancher of Rushville, IN, and Tammy Hymer of Connersville, IN; three sisters: Susan Cross (Arnold) of Knob Lick, Jennifer McKinney of Horse Cave, and Rometta “Rosie” (Larry) Davenport of Glasgow; three step-children: Veronica Webb, Kristy Ford, and James Raymond Logsdon; eleven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; along with a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his late wife Wilma Berry Fancher; six brothers: James Fancher (stillborn), Edward “Billy” Fancher, Vernon Fancher, Maxie Fancher, Chester Fancher, Damon Fancher, and Charles “Hotshot” Fancher; four sisters: Nina Mae “Louise” Poynter, Avis Pauline Fancher (stillborn), Janet Stovall, and Jaynette Owens.

A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 22, 2026 at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial to follow at the Houk Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral home to help offset expenses.
