Brenda Emmert Tarry

Brenda Jane Emmert Tarry, 82, Glasgow, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 23, 2026 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born at Church Hill, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late John William Emmert, Sr. and Marvin Belle Yates Emmert.

Brenda was a retired supervisor at Techno-Trim and a member of the Morrison Park Church which she loved to attend until her health prevented it. She had a strong relationship with her Lord. She was also a homemaker who loved to quilt as well as spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening; working in her flower beds; and researching genealogy.

Survivors include her two daughters: Lisa Rae Tarry Decker (Buck) and Tina Marlene Tarry Smith (Robert Bray); six grandchildren: Charles Frank Decker (Kaci), Bradley Adam Decker, Dana Nicole Decker Kidwell (Dustin), Kevin Ryan Smith (Megan), Heather Marie Smith, and Holly Beth Smith; ten great-grandchildren: Landon Reed Decker, Annsley Claire Decker, Dallas Rae Kidwell, Kyler Matthew Kidwell, Emberlynn Brynne Thompson, Presley Lucille Smith, Jace Taylor Smith, Grayson Noah Jones, Daylan Layne Jones, and Asher Jude Smith; a special friend, Kathy Shive.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Robert Taylor Tarry, Jr.; one brother, John William (J.W.) Emmert, Jr.; two sisters: Anita Jean Emmert Houchens and Frances Anne Emmert; one sister-in-law, Ruby Lee Emmert.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 31, 2026 at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
