Boyd W. Phillips

Boyd W. Phillips, 84, Glasgow , died Monday, January 12, 2004 , at his residence. The son of the late Mattie Van Meter and Lilyon W. Phillips, he was a retired foreman at Mallory Capacitor and SKF Industries. He was a United States Army veteran of WW II and the Korean Conflict and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal and Purple Heart. He was a member of the VFW Post 5309, a Kentucky Colonel and a member of the Glasgow Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Linda P. Matthews and her husband, Tommy, of Hiseville; two grandsons, Bo Matthews and his wife, Terri, of Glasgow, and Todd Matthews and his wife, Tonya, of Bowling Green; two great-grandsons, Greg and Luke Matthews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Hansen Phillips and an infant son, Boyd Hansen Phillips.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 16, 2004, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Hiseville Cemetery. Friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
