DICKINSON, Billie Neal (Nee Howard)
Billie Dickinson passed away February 17th in Louisville, KY. Billie was born in Glasgow, KY December 20, 1936 and was predeceased in death by parents William E. Howard and Jane Elizabeth Miller Howard. Also preceding her in death was her husband, Brents Dickinson III, and brother-in-law, Henry Holman Dickinson.
She is survived by her daughter, Brents Dickinson and son, Christopher Howard Dickinson (Melissa), grandchildren: Peyton Elizabeth Johnson (Matthew), and Claire Lillian Dickinson, sisters-in-law: Lelia Ann (Smith) Grant and Emmy Lou Dickinson; as well as close family member Clayton (Virginia) Miller.
Billie attended Glasgow, KY School System; was a graduate from the University of Kentucky with a degree in Education; and taught in the Fayette County School system including the Child Development Center at the Cerebral Palsy Center. After her career in education, Billie was a homemaker and caregiver to her two children and a viable member of the community.
She was devoted to the Bowling Green KY Housing Authority where she thoroughly enjoyed being involved with programs dedicated to the common goal of improving the quality and providing support to the residents and members. Billie was involved in many other Bowling Green programs including the Capital Center KY, Chapter O of PEO, Kentucky Museum, Bowling Green / Warren County Orchestra, Hospice, Cerebral Palsy Board and First Baptist Church of Bowling Green. She enjoyed anything that grows: Children, Flowers, and Faith.
A visitation and Celebration of Life will be held at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home, 801 N. Race Street, Glasgow, KY 42141 from to 11:00 to 12 PM on Saturday February 21st. A graveside service will immediately follow at Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to First Baptist Church, Bowling Green; Chapter O of P.E.O., Bowling Green; or a charity of your choice.
