Betty Elmore Gonzalez, age 76 passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 17, 2023 at her residence. She was born January 12, 1947, to the late Bill and Charlotte Childress. In her lifetime, she touched the hearts of many and left a mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Betty loved her animals, computer games, soap operas, family, friends, and dancing. Betty’s legacy will endure through the countless stories and memories we share about her. If you know, you know.
Betty is survived by her two sons, Mark(Sue) Elmore, Jeremy(Brandi) Elmore, her daughter, Missy(Shane) Overfelt, and one bonus daughter, Sonia Roberts. She leaves behind a legacy of nine grandchildren, Samantha(Andrew)Willian, Jessica(Michael)Shirley, Kasey(Jared) Prater, Taylor Elmore, Brock(Cassady)Elmore, John Elmore, Tyler Elmore, Hannah Beth Elmore and Jacob Elmore; two great-children, Brayden and Ayden Holman; one brother, Clifton Childress, two sisters, Jeanie Christie and Karen Elmore; and several nieces and nephews.
Though we mourn her passing, we also celebrate a life well-lived—a life filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments. Betty has now joined her parents and three brothers, Ronnie, Wayne, and Tommy Childress, in eternal peace.
Betty’s memory will forever remain in our hearts. Let us carry forward the lessons of love, joy, and resilience that she so generously shared with us. As we say our goodbyes today, let us remember Betty for the vibrant, spirited, and loving soul that she was. May her legacy continue to inspire us all to embrace life with the same enthusiasm and warmth that she did.

Funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at Hatcher and Saddler funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be after 8:00 A.M. Wednesday until time of service.
