Benjamin David Harper, 74, Glasgow, passed away Sunday, March 22, 2026. A native of Metcalfe County, he was the son of the late Ben and Louellan Jessee Harper.

Benjamin grew up around Chicago, a place that remained dear to his heart. After graduation from high school, he became a truck driver for Union Carbide. Later on in life he was manager of Benjamin’s Jewelry and Hobby Shop in Glasgow and spent several years filming sports events for the coaches at Glasgow High School.

Survivors include his wife Pandora Slinker Harper; one daughter, Chantal Williamson and her husband Benjamin Thomas Pascal Williamson; one grandson, Samuel Levi Williamson; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his three brothers: Alfonso Harper, Charles Harper, and Gary Harper.

Graveside services will be held 3:00 p.m. Thursday at the Houk Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12 noon until 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home.
