Barbara Lee Staples, 86, Glasgow, died Thursday, September 30, 2021 at the Barren County Nursing & Rehab Center. The Barren County native was the daughter of the late Willie Clayton Houchens and Willie Neal Woodcock Houchens. She was a 1952 graduate of Austin-Tracy High School and a retired CMT at NHC Healthcare Center.
Survivors include two children: Vicki Lowe and husband David, and Steven F. Staples and wife Becky all of Glasgow; two grandchildren: Taylor Staples (Dillon Gordon) and Tyler Clark (Calley); several nieces and nephews, and her beloved cat Tad.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James Follis Staples; one sister, Margaret Stotler; and one brother, Jerry Houchens.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Monday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be after 10 am Monday at the funeral home.
