Avery Shirley

     Avery Shirley, 69 Austin, Passed away Saturday, October 25, 2025, at NHC Healthcare. He was the son of the late Russell Earl Shirley and Wanda Laverne Williams. Avery proudly served in the United States Navy. 

     He is survived by one brother: Jeff Shirley; three sisters: Judy Rasdell (Jeff), Brenda Crain, and Connie Sturgeon (Danny). Three nieces: Toni Cochran (Brad), Wendy Shirley, and Amanda Close; two nephews: Frankie Richardson, and Adam Sturgeon; several nieces and nephews also survive.

     In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by brother in-law Noah Crain.

     Funeral service will be held 2:00pm Tuesday, October 28, 2025 at Hatcher and Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Hiseville Cemetery. Visitation will be after 10:00am Tuesday at the funeral home. The family has requested in lieu of flowers donations can be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses. Military honors will be provided by DAV chapter 20 of Glasgow.
