Roger Dale Gentry

          Roger Dale Gentry, 69, Glasgow, passed away Friday, February 3, 2023 at the T J Samson Community Hospital.  A native of Barren County, he was the son of the late Garland “Junior” Gentry and Nelda Earlene Geralds Gentry.

          Roger served many years as the manager of Richardson’s Hardware and did extensive independent electrical work.  He was an outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, and trapshooting.  He was a member of the Barren River Rod and Gun Club where he had been in charge of the trapshooting range.  He also enjoyed playing cards and billiards.  He especially loved spending time with his family and he tried to never miss an event that included his children and/or grandchildren.  He attended the Grider Memorial Baptist Church.

          Survivors include his wife Linda Norris Gentry; three daughters: Angela Langford (Jeremiah) of Bowling Green, Melissa Bunch (Joey) and Lacie McGuffey (Drew) both of Glasgow; eight grandchildren: Parker Langford, Ethan Langford, Mason Bunch, Jaycee Bunch, Ayla McGuffey, Bailee Bunch, Maggie McGuffey, and Holdon Bunch; four brothers: Kenny Gentry (Cindy), Maxey Gentry (Traci), Donnie Gentry, and Kevin Gentry (Judy); two sisters: Linda Combs (Bobby) and Gena Williams (Phil); his mother-in-law, Rose Ella Norris; two sisters-in-law: Rita Powell (Steve) and Sandra Tracy (Glen); several nieces and nephews.

          In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law Will Turner “Bill” Norris.

          Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens.  Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and continue Tuesday morning at the funeral home.
