SFC John Wayne York, ANG, Ret. age 65, Glasgow, passed away Friday, July 17, 2015, at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. A native of Nashville, he was a son of the late John Woodard York and Emma Jean Odom York. He was retired from the Tennessee Air National Guard after 38 ½ years of service; a graduate of Lipscomb University, holding degrees in three subject areas; and was a member of the Crieve Hall Church of Christ in Nashville.

Survivors include Steve and Carrie Brock and their children Madison and Carson of Etoile, along with an adopted son: Troy Bentley; and a brother: Mike Thomas York of Nashville.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial to follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park in Nashville. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday and after 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to BRAWA.

    Sorry to hear of Wayne’s passing. Admired his love of his dogs and
    know that he really cared for them. So sorry we did not know that he was
    ill and were unable to help him in his trying time as we had in the past in some
    of his struggles.
