Mary Spillman Montgomery Farris Newberry

Mary Spillman Montgomery Farris Newberry, 93, died Sunday, August 9, 2009 at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. Born September 19, 1915 to the late Flavie and Fannie Mae Spillman Montgomery. She taught elementary school for 33 years with the Barren County School System at Hiseville Elementary and also at Caverna Elementary. She was a member of the Hiseville Baptist Church where she played the piano for many years.

She is survived by her daughter: Gail Jackson and her husband Ralph of Cave City; two grandsons: Ralph Farris Jackson of Cave City and Shelton Jackson and his wife Cindy of Cave City; two great-grandchildren: Nick Jackson and Will Jackson.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband Edwin (Bud) Farris and her second husband Frank Newberry. A sister Aline Crenshaw Cobb.

Funeral will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with Bro. Joel Franks officiating. Burial will be in the Hiseville Cemetery. Visitation will be after 5:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.
